holiday

I have holiday again :D I know it's been quite a while since I last updated, but I become quite lazy, and we haven't done too much since Australia

But, a few weeks back we went shooting at a gun range. We had 12 shots each, and had a lot of fun. It was only .22 bullets, but it was still quite fun :P I got 3 bullseye, and a few quite close to it. I got 80 points out of 100 possible, so I'm quite proud, considering that it's the first time I've done it.

Even further back we went tramping in mountains. We started off by being dropped off at a car park on side of the ranges, and ended up on the other side of it. In all we walked for 3 days. about 3 hours the first day, where we walked at night because it was a Friday. 6 hours the next day, where we went all the way to the top of it (and it was BIG). and 4 hours the last day, where we walked through river, and some places had to do a bit of rock climbing because the river got too deep to cross.
All in all a really good trip, and to my surprise I was the first to reach the car park the last day, which is weird since Denmark only has a bit of hills to go through, and the last part of the river walk, we had to leave the river, and walk up a VERY steep hillside.

I also went on an art trip with the school, mostly to not be at school that day, and instead go to Palmerston North. We went mostly to see some of the art people have done for their art boards (they have to do a certain number of boards every year to pass that level). After we were done looking at paintings, we went to the nearby mall to shop and eat. Where I bought a new school bag, because the strap fell off my other one, which I then gave to some Asian guy who asked for it when I threw it in a bin (I am such a generous guy).

In school I'm slowly getting ready to leave. I'm making things for my friends in engineering and wood tech. I've made a full out shield for my host brother Joe. We've tested it at bit by beating each other with big metal poles, and shot at it with a home made crossbow.
I'm almost done making a wooden bunny for one of my friends at school. We came up with the idea in art, and the next class I started on it. Which means I've been going to the wood tech department in some of my other classes, because I don't really take the subject, but we have a really nice teacher there, who seems to like me.

I'm also almost done with a metal catapult. I started it mainly to practice my welding, so I can get good at it before going home. And after spending a few hours welding, I've actually become pretty okay.

Anyway that was all I have for now

see ya :D

Australia

So, I know I'm a bit late on this one, but I've been really tired all week.

Anyway, Thursday (7.) we went to Australia for a long weekend. It was a really nice trip, with a lot of fun.

We started off driving to Auckland, which took about 6 hours. Then we flew to the Gold Coast. As we arrived we started out with a too small car. We're 6, but the car they gave us due to an error, only had room for 5 people. After some arguing, and a look on our economy, we were off, a little cramped though. When we finally arrived at our apartment, we had some trouble with our keys, that didn't seem to fit very well in our door, but after a few minutes turning and switching, we finally got in. It was quite a big apartment. We had 2 balcony's, and some nice big rooms. From our top balcony we could see the Q1 building, which is the worlds 3. tallest residential building. We lived quite close to the beach, but due to too big waves (or something like that) the beach was closed (even though the beach was called Surfers Paradise).

2. day we went to DreamWorld, which is a theme park. We had quite a lot of fun, but at the end of the day, we were quite tired and sore everywhere. The same night we went to a local market. I ended up buying a book cover for my art book in leather (because I've started drawing quite a lot, and it looked really cool!).

3. day my host-mom was sick, so the 5 of us went to White Waterworld, which is a part of Dreamworld, but as the name states, it's a water park. It was quite a lot of fun too, but due to the lack of employees they had, they had 1 person to work 2 rides, which just made the lines long, and uncomfortable.

4. day we went to White Waterworld again. This time with my host-mom, who felt a lot better. They still had the same problem, so at lunch we decided to go to Dreamworld instead. once again, a fun day.

5. day I found  a nice little Danish restaurant, and had a REALLY good breakfast there. it was some quite good food, but it made me realise how much I've missed hard boiled egg. After a nice breakfast we went to a shopping mall, where to policemen thought Joe and I looked really suspicious, so they stopped us to take a "talk" with us, which more seemed like an open threat about not doing anything we weren't allowed to (involving quote: "there are lots of cameras around, so we can look out for you, and make sure you behave")

The flight home was quite pleasant. but we took off at 5, and due to our financial state, we didn't get food on the plane, which I am used to do, but it okay. After a rather long drive home, I could finally throw myself in my bed at 6 in the morning.

All-in-all, it was a quite good weekend.

Year 13

I know it's been a while since I've updated, but I've been quite busy (an possibly lazy), since I started in school again. Anyway, I am now Year 13, which is the last year at the collage.

The 1. week we went on the Year 13 Camp. It is mostly just an extra holiday for the Year 13's, but also meant for us to become a bit closer, and get to know everyone a bit better.
One of the days we taught the Year 9's the school Haka (which is a mauri dance). Which also means that I (kinda) know it now.
The last day we made a small play in our house groups (house groups - think Harry potter, griffendor slytherin, etc.), I had to change house at the camp, because the school made some errors with me, so this far into the year, I've now been in 3 of the 4 houses (Tararua, Kawaka and Ruahini). We managed to plan our play 30 minutes before going on stage, yet it wasn't the worst one. We had had some leadership issues, from people who thought they deserved being house leader, so instead of actually planning our play, they argued the whole day instead. Our play was a game show, kind of like "who wants to be a millionaire", we had a lot of random jokes, one of them being me walking on stage only in my underwear. But it was fun.

I am also starting on singing lessons this year, I've already been added to it, and I'm just waiting to start now. Unfortunately I'm only here the 1. term, and possibly 2 weeks into 2. term, so it's mostly just to try it out for now. Luckily it's all free, since our school has their own teachers for that kind of things.

I've started exercising a bit with my host-brother. Everyday we cycle 4-5 km, and we're planning on going to Bulls soon, which is 8 km away, just to get in some kind of a shape. We also swim 200 meters every day, and I swim at school. Last week we did a test in it, and I feel like I've fallen a bit in my speed since last year back in Denmark. I swam 300 meters in 8 minutes, which is enough to pass it, but I'm sure I would have been able to do 400 meters in the same time back home.

I haven't really had much time for my skating lately, since I have come to a point where I find the skatepark we have here way too boring. So I have to go all the way to Palmerston North, and I have to get up at 7 am to catch the only bus going there.

Last night we went to a surprise party, for one of my friends named Holly. She didn't expect it at all, and we had a really fun time. We went to bed at 05:30 in the morning, and I got up at 10, so right now I'm pretty tired. We played charades for about 5 hours, and I am apparently actually pretty okay at it.

Anyway, that is all I have for now
Bye!

South Island and Christmas

First, I'd like to appologice for not having updated a bit earlier, but my computer had a small breakdown as soon as I got home. Luckily my dad is a very good I.T. Supporter, and knew exactly what to do, so I am now up and running again :)

My Christmas was a bit different this year. We had about 25 degrees, a lot of sun, and a nice BBQ in the evening. We had to do our presents the 24 in the afternoon. Because we were going to the South Island at 11 in the morning, and we wouldn't have time to do it in the evening, because we were invited to a BBQ at some of our friends. So instead my Christmas was more like I am used to, than I thought it would be.
ps. I got a new skateboard (k2), 3  new t-shirts, some nice lollies from Denmark, about $300 and 2 scratching calendars, which I unforturnately didn't win anything from.

25. we started our journey to the south (The Hobbit reference). We went on a ferry to Picton, and then continued onwards to Kaikoura. The people we had booked the trip from, had made an error, so the motel we stayed at thought we would only be 4, but we managed to fit 2 extra people in our room. For dinner we went to a nice restourant for our Christmas feast, and got ham. After dinner we went to the beach, where Joe and I went for a swim. The waves there are incredibly big, and not very user friendly, as the beat you up, and the drag you outwards. We survived though.

26. We went to Christchurch, where we tried to swim with dolfins, unforturnately we couldn't find any that seemd interrested in us, but we did find a few fishing, and got a cookie and hot chokolate (most expensive cookie and hot chokolate I've ever had though ($95))

27. we went to Wanaka, which is about 1 hour from Queenstown. The first day we just stayed there, and had a little look at the nice town. Once again, we went for a swim, and swam in the completely black water at night (I was panicking a bit, because I couldn't see anything in the water, yet felt the seaweed and knew it was more than 3 meters deep)
We stayed here for 3 nights. The 2. day we went to Queenstown. We went on the Louge, which is kinda like gocart, but down hill and only powered by gravity. It was really fun, and we got 2 extra tickets from a couple just as we were on our way in.
3. day we went to River Sledging. Where you are on a thing that looks a bit like a surf board cut in half, and then flow down a river with 5 rapids, and some really cool waves. I fell into a hole where to waves met eachother, and pushed the water down, and I was under water for 7 seconds, acording to our Swedish guide. We were on the river for 11 km, with some good speed, and a few realixing parts, to take a breath.
4. day, our final day, where we continued to the Fox glacier. But first I had to do my 3. and possibly last bungy jump. 134 m highwire, at 09:30 in the morning. Bungy Jump Link. I have never tried anything as awesome as that. 8.5 seconds fall, and when it pulls you up again, it feels like a whole new jump, before you have to release your own feet. I am now ready to go on the worlds highest, 350m in USA.

We were a bit disapointed at Fox Glacier. Our rooms where really bad, and we were really not satisfied, and the fact that the weather was horrible too, didn't make it any better. In fact, the next day is was so bad, that we decided not to go to the glacier. Which turned out to be extremely lucky. The next day my dad read the news, saying that there had been giant floods all over in that area, and if we had stopped to look at the glacier, we would have been trapped in it.

We then went to a small town which I can't recall the name of. Here the rooms were also quite bad, but not as bad as in Fox. We were supposed to go on some Black Water Rafting, which is River rafting, but underground, the next day in the morning before going to Abel Tasman. But the weather was again so bad, that we decided not to go on that either. Which again ended up being a lucky choise. 'cause just a few hours after we were gone from the area, the floods arrived there too. In fact, 40m of a bridge we drove over, was missing, because of the enormous amounts of water. We stopped to decide if we wanted to have a look at a very large bridge, but no one really felt like it. If we had done that, we would have been stuck in the floods.

Abel Tasman was nice though. We had a really nice flat at our motel, really nice weather, and a lot of optimism. We went to see the Split Rock, about 100 meters off shore. We swam out there, and after a lot of painfull kicks on really big rocks underwater. We got to the rock, and my sister took some good pictures of us. The rest of the day was just realaxation. I watched a few movies on my laptop, along with some salt and vinegar crisps, and tried to take care of my sore feet.

The last day we were on our way home. We slept for a long time, because we didn't have to get out of the motel untill 12 o'clock. We then proceded to Picton to go back on the ferry, and onwards home. We arrived back home at 12 in the evening, and we were all REALLY tired.

So that sums up our nice little trip to the South Island and my Christmas.

I have now had a really relaxing day, filled with cartoons

I'm out :)

Australia

This week has been pretty awesome!

first. we've decided to go to Australia in March, for 5 days. We're REALLY looking forward to it. We'll mostly be going to some awesome water parks, and the beach, but also some shopping and maybe some sightseeing. It's at Gold Beach (hint: google it). It looks really beautiful :P

It's been a bit more than 5 months now, and I must admit, that I'm not really as homesick as I though I would be by now, which is of course only good. It's almost Christmas, and I've now bought all of my presents for the family. I have also gotten a package from my parents back in Denmark, with some presents, my hat, and best of all, liquorice.

My family and I have now discovered a way I can get some more money. We cut down a lot of bamboo which we think we can sell for a reasonable price. I help out a lot with it, and have already in this week spend 8 hours cutting leaves off (which hurts an awful lot of it touches the skin), so they can dry. I have also checked the possibility of street baskering with my guitar, and I have been told that I don't need a permit or anything to do it here, so I'm thinking of going to Palmerston North one of the days before Christmas, to try to get some money from the shoppers.

I also only need 2 sleighs more to get 5000 kr. on my Christmas Calender, and 1 candle to get 100 kr.

Tuesday we had a good BBQ. But the weather wasn't too nice. all week before that it was sunny all day, and all week after it, it has been sunny, but not that exact day, instead it was cloudy, windy and cold. We still had fun though, and ended up watching movies half the night. The same day I moved to a new room, and we discovered that we could fit 4 sleeping people in my new bed, and still not be extremely uncomfortable. Although everyone was lying pretty randomly.

My new room is quite a lot bigger than any of the other 2 I've had since I got here. It's also closer to Joe's (my brother) room, so we don't have to move that far to play computer. Most of the time we even just sit in each our room, and yell at each other to act sociable (all friendly).

that pretty much sums everything up from the past week I think.

I hope you who read this, have had a good day so far, and is happy :)

People are leaving

We dropped off my Japanese sister this morning for the flight back to Japan. We left at 05:10, so obviously me and my brothers didn't go to sleep, and instead sat in our kitchen playing games all night. As a result we were REALLY tired when we dropped her off, and didn't really have energy to emote. But she is gone now, and I have gotten a few hours of sleep. Surprisingly I woke up before my sisters, who slept all night, and went to bed when we came home, as I did.

But now we are only 4 student left in the house. Carlos will be leaving in a few weeks. We're not completely sure when, because of some trouble with tickets, but between the 4. and 13.

Next weekend we'll be going to Rotorua again. We'll stay the same place as we did last time, because it was a really nice house, and it was really cheap too (only $60 pr. night for all of us). We're going to try a lot of things I don't remember the names of. We're all looking really forward to it, and can't wait.

The summer has pretty much struck is now, I'm having problems every day I go to skate park, because it just gets too hot to do anything. Luckily we have our pool, which is quite nice and almost warm now.

We've been cutting down some trees form the garden this week. As a result, I got really sunburnt, because it got WAY too hot to wear my t-shirt. At one point I had to jump in the pool with my Jeans-shorts to cool off, which helped me through the whole day, because my shorts stayed wet until we were done.

I am still trying to write a song I will be proud enough of to put on youtube. And as soon as it happens, I will update about it here, in case anyone is interested. The problem isn't really about writing the lyrics, it's more about making is sound exactly the way I want it to, and it's pretty difficult since I change my mind about it every day.

I am sorry I haven't really updated for a while, but it's holiday, and most of the time we're either with our friends, or at home, which isn't really enough to blog about.

But I think that's pretty much all I have for now
Bye!

Summer holiday

Just to do a quick update. I get my summer holiday tomorrow. I won't be going back to school 'till sometime in February. I also won an award for my musical talent today, it's not much, only a paper telling that I have done very well. But the fact that I am the only one to get it, makes it a bit more special :D

I also spent all weekend working for my family. We needed the pool cleaned, and we removed a lot of trees and bushes, to make our garden a bit more good looking. We are currently filling the pool, but it takes quite a while, because we only have 1 hose, which is not very effective.

Next weekend we will be going river rafting. I'm really looking forward to it. I don't exactly know where, or how far away it is, but it's going to be really awesome :P

Just a little quick update :)
